good things

Good things come to those with disproportionate faces. You pepper the world with grand quirks. Like your face.

Good things come to those who do new things.

Good things come to those who waited—and failed at it. Your movement starts movements.

Bad things come to those who cut in line. Unless you’re in India, where you must or you’ll wait all day.

Bad things come to those who sneer at Taylor Swift’s 1989 album before listening to it. Cynics suck wonder from the world.

Bad things come to those who spend their mornings, trying to stretch out their left eye so it matches their right. Embrace your face, o small-eyed one.

Good things come to those whose faces are as foldably geometric as Mr. Denzel Washington’s. You can’t help it; celebrate symmetry.

Good things come to those who make routines. You get stuff done.

Good things come to those who wait, especially if you wait so others can have the good things first.

Bad things come to those who wait too long— to act on the behalf of someone who cannot speak. You sin by omission.

Bad things come to those who go to the same place everyday and do the same thing everyday and the center of your routine is yourself.

Bad things come to those who despise dappled things. May your symmetry collide with tie-dye quite soon.
